Porterville families, students, and community - your voice matters!
On Thursday, August 28th, 2025, our educators at Porterville Educators Association (PEA) recently called on School Board Members during the public comment segment to meet and discuss urgent concerns that affect your child and our classrooms. So far, not one of them has contacted PEA to schedule a meeting.
That's why we are asking YOU: please contact your PUSD School Board Members and urge them to sit down with Porterville Educators Association.
Several School Board seats are up for election next year. Now is the time to remind our leaders that listening to families and teachers matters.
Below are sample emails you can send to the school board members. Please delete the words that are bolded and replace it with your information.

As a member of the Porterville community, I am deeply concerned about the issues currently affecting our schools, our children, and the dedicated educators who serve them every day.
On August 28, 2025, the Porterville Educators Association publicly requested that the School Board meet to discuss urgent concerns regarding our classrooms and student learning conditions. Unfortunately, it has been reported that no member of the Board has yet reached out to schedule such a meeting.
I strongly urge you, as an elected representative of our community, to sit down with the educators of PEA. Productive dialogue between our School Board and our teachers is essential to ensuring that students receive the best possible education in a supportive and thriving learning environment.
